We are thrilled to promote the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl—which has made its just return to Hawaii (after a horrendous decision by both the NFL and the former authorities-of-note here in Honolulu).

Just over a year and a half ago, we reported on a few brave wahine who had launched a flat-track roller derby team on Oahu, which was then mirrored by like efforts on Maui and Kauai. We can say with confidence that said article garnered some of the most feedback of any we’ve received in recent memory (yes it was mostly from inquisitve, slightly creepy guys). But alas, the ladies of Hawaii Island were not to be left out: The Big Island’s “Paradise Roller Girls” will debut at their first derby on Saturday, November 27, in Hilo’s Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, doors open at 5:00 p.m.

There are few things that typify the feeling of summer more so than taking in a Sunday polo match on O`ahu’s North Shore.

Robby Naish is a 24-time World Champion wind surfer. He's the Michael Jordan of surfing with a sail. It's debatable if anyone, ever, will mimic the achievements Naish has made on the competitive circuit—which began when he was 12 years old. Yet, if it wasn't enough, Naish has built a business of wind, Stand-Up, kite and surf gear that is top-tier.

For over 25 years, surf legend Randy Rarick has wrangled adrenaline-charged surfers, international crowds and a litany of corporate sponsors to bring us the Triple Crown of Surfing—the most important series of surf contests on the globe.

Sunday, March 21, marks the opening day of Hawaii's polo season. In true island style, this year's Hawaii Polo Club has upped the ante with an improved clubhouse, more food and beverage vendors during match play, and an energetic half-time and post-match entertainment line-up.

Robert Parks-Valletta may just be Hollywood's most unassuming philanthropist. During the actor's strike of 2008, Valletta took his time away from the bright lights and silver screen to formulate a non-profit outfit that puts A-list celebrities on basketball courts and race tracks with everyday citizens—all to raise money for global organizations in dire need of assistance.

    This past weekend marked the beginning of the Hawaii Polo Club's official season, held out at Mokuleia Polo Fields on the North Shore. Through August 16th, you can spend the day sipping elegant (or not) cocktails, dressing in your Sunday’s best (you’re not obligated) and mingling with the who’s who (you’re encouraged) of O'ahu.
